Fan Replacement, OH What fun..

Hello Rock
After hour's of searching the world wide web I couldn't find but one fan that was the correct size and even at that it was the incorrect one, So with regret I got in touch with the makers of my computer case, "Thermaltake" which is like pulling teeth from a Rino and several emails later I got them to replace the case fan which was 230 x 230 x 20 that runs at 800 rpm at 0.40 amps thats when I found out I have a 3 year warranty parts and labor. So of course I had to pay the shipping cost which added up one third of the cost of the fan so much for a free warranty that I had to pay for.. Anyway it all worked out thanks for help talk to you soon and Happy New year to you.

My system is running slow

If your system is running slow or taking a long time to boot. Here is a couple of suggestions that you can do. If you are not sure what any of the following steps do then please contact me. You don't want to make a small problem become a big problem.

1. Run an up to date virus scan on your whole system and remove any viruses or spy-ware that are found.

2. Run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility. It is found in the Accessories - System Tools area

3. Remove any old programs that you don't use anymore. This can be found in the Install and Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and
Features (Vista and Windows 7). If your not sure what it is then DON'T remove it.

4. Run a complete de-fragmentation of your hard disk. ( This may need to be run several times to remove all disk fragmentation)

5. Download and run a Registry cleaner and repair utility. (This can correct many system errors.)

6. Check your available hard disk space. If it is less than 10% then additional disk cleanup may be needed or the hard drive upgraded to a larger hard drive.

If you notice that your fans in the computer are running all the time or you have fan noise louder than normal then it may be time to have your system scheduled to have it cleaned. Computer fans will suck large amounts of dust into them that will clog the heat sinks of the processor, graphics cards, power supply and system boards. When this happens the computer will run hotter and they will run slower to prevent failure. This not only makes your system run slower but shortens the life span and your system will fail sooner. I highly recommend that you have your system cleaned at least every 6 months to keep them from overheating.

If you have any questions with any of the above procedures please contact me.

I forgot my password: what do I do?

What do I do? I forgot my password. there are several methods to assist in recovering or resetting your password. There implications to both.

1. Recovering your password - This entails using an external software to essentially break in to your system by trying many many passwords. this method requires time and sometimes this can lead from hours to days depending on how complex your password was.

2. Resetting your password - This also entails an external program that just goes in and wipes out your password. The issue is that you will loose any encrypted data that you have saved on your system.

If you have the time it would be best to have us recover the password that way there is minimal chance of loosing any data. If there isn't anything that you mind loosing then we can certainly just reset the password.

Do it your self virus removal

There are several way to remove a virus yourself for free or for a low cost.

1. Go Here download and install the new Microsoft Security Essentials. This will install a virus and spamware program software from Microsoft that is free. It will perform an initial scan and remove most all virus's.

Or

2. go to Here and download Search and Destroy this is another good freeware virus protection program that will remove most all virus's

If you have tried all the above and are unable to remove the virus you my consider giving us a call us to assist with removing the virus. Stronger means maybe needed to include reloading the operating system. Of course this is dependent on how severe the infection is.
